The UK Student visa & Graduate Route
You'll apply for a Student visa using a CAS from your university, then switch to the Graduate Route after you finish. Here's the route from offer to arrival.

Accept an unconditional offer; your university issues a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS).

Show maintenance funds
Hold the required living-cost funds in an eligible account for at least 28 consecutive days.

Take a TB test
Complete a tuberculosis test at a UKVI-approved clinic (required for applicants from India).

Apply online & pay
Submit your Student visa application, pay the fee and the Immigration Health Surcharge.

Give biometrics
Attend a VFS appointment to provide fingerprints and a photograph.

How much does it cost to study in the UK?
Tuition for international students typically runs GBP 15,000–35,000 per year depending on the institution, city and program, plus the maintenance funds you must show as part of your visa application.
Can I study in the UK without IELTS?
Some universities accept alternative Secure English Language Tests or, in certain cases, prior English-medium study. Requirements vary by course — we check the exact one for you.
What is a CAS?
A Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies is a reference number your university issues once you accept an unconditional offer. It's required to apply for your Student visa and confirms your course, funding and English evidence.
How long can I stay after I graduate?
The Graduate Route lets you stay and work for 2 years after a bachelor's or master's (3 years after a PhD), at any skill level, with no job offer needed to apply.
