Terms of Service
Last updated: 1 August 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the UniStep mobile application and related services (the “Service”), operated by Texas Immigration, a partnership firm with its registered office at 5th Floor, District Shopping Centre, S.C.O 120, Gumtala Sub Urban, B-Block, Ranjit Avenue, Amritsar, Punjab 143001, India (“Texas Immigration”, “we”, “us”), a study-abroad and visa consultancy licensed by the Punjab Government. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 17 years old to use UniStep and able to enter into a binding agreement. By using the Service you confirm that you meet these requirements.
2. What UniStep does — and does not — do
UniStep helps you discover programs, get profile-based matches, prepare and submit applications, manage documents, and follow a visa checklist. UniStep is a guidance and facilitation tool. We do not guarantee admission to any university, the accuracy of every third-party program detail, the grant of any student visa, or any particular outcome. Admission and visa decisions are made solely by the relevant institutions and government authorities.
UniStep does not provide immigration advice or representation. Our service is education recruitment and application support. Advising on or representing you in an immigration matter is a regulated activity in the countries we serve — in Canada it may only be carried out by an authorised professional, such as a Canadian lawyer, a Quebec notary, or a member of the College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants. Where your question concerns your status, permit, eligibility or an application to a government, we will refer you to an authorised professional rather than answering it ourselves. Nothing in the Service, including any automated or AI-generated response, is immigration advice or an assessment of your personal eligibility.
3. Your account and information
- You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide. Matches and eligibility indications are only as good as the data you enter.
- You are responsible for keeping access to your email and device secure, since sign-in uses a code sent to your email.
- You must have the right to upload any documents you submit, and they must be truthful and your own.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Provide false, fraudulent or misleading information or documents.
- Use the Service for anything unlawful, or to infringe the rights of others.
- Attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorised access to the Service or other users’ data.
5. Fees
UniStep charges you no recruitment or placement fee. Using the Service to find a programme, be matched, prepare an application and submit it through us is free to you. If you enrol at an institution we work with, we may receive a commission from that institution. That commission does not increase what the institution charges you.
You remain responsible for paying, directly to whoever charges them: tuition and institutional fees, deposits, government and application fees, language tests, medical examinations, biometrics, translations, courier costs, and any other third-party cost.
Immigration representation is a separate, chargeable service. If you ask us to have your visa or permit file handled by a licensed immigration professional — for example a regulated Canadian immigration consultant or lawyer — that work is carried out by that professional under their own engagement terms and is charged separately. It is not covered by the free recruitment service described above. You will always be told the fee, who is providing the service and under whose licence, and you will be asked to agree to it in writing before any such work begins. You are never obliged to use a professional we introduce, and you may instruct anyone you choose.
If we introduce any other paid feature in future, we will make the pricing clear before you are charged.
6. Intellectual property
The Service, including its software, design, and the UniStep name and logo, is owned by Texas Immigration and protected by law. You retain ownership of the content and documents you upload, and you grant us the limited right to use them to provide the Service (including sharing application materials with the institutions you apply to).
7. Third-party content
Program details, fees, deadlines and requirements are provided for your convenience and may change. Always confirm details with the institution before making decisions.
8. Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any match or information is complete or accurate.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, UniStep will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for any loss arising from admission or visa decisions, reliance on program information, or your inability to use the Service.
10. Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or misuse the Service.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts at Amritsar, Punjab.
12. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
